Ariel Torres is his name, but his good friends call him Ace. Ariel is a Senior at New Design High School. Born and raised on the Lower East Side, Ariel lives with his mother, father and brother. His parents hail from the Dominican Republic, he's only been there once, but hopes to go back some day. Ariel is very laid-back and gets along with lots of people. The LES has shaped a lot of who he is, the folks he grew up with in his neighborhood have had a big impact on who he has become and his outlook on life. In his free time, Ariel enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with friends. He hopes to become someone important in the future. He hopes to go to college some day and probably become a firefighter. He chose firefighting because he loves the courage and the excitement of the job. If that doesn't work out for him he will go back to college and find a good career. All he wants to do is make his family proud of what he has become.
